The Cold-Formed Steel Research Consortium (CFSRC) in conjunction with steel industry partners has begun a new initiative – Reliability 2030: Design of Steel as a System. The objective of the effort is to develop and implement a code approved means to reliably account for and optimize system behavior in steel design. The effort is envisioned as an industry-government-academic effort; and in addition to industry support federal research funding compatible with the overall program is being pursued.
